Job Title: Grant Writer- Temporary; as needed

Job Goal: Grant writer’s?objective is to research, draft, and submit proposals that will allow the school district to receive grant funding based on the district’s financial needs. Craft proposals & seek funds from donors as well as state and federal agencies.

- Demonstrate aptitude or competence for assignment
- Advanced knowledge of grant or technical writing & application process
- Maintain communication with district level personnel
- Ability to research, collect data, write proposals and submit applications
- Excellent written communication skills
- Attention to detail with regards to drafting, writing, editing & proofreading
- Ability to take conceptual ideas and apply critical thinking to applicable & available opportunities
- Ability to apply intricate levels of grant requirement components into written applications
- Knowledge & experience of basic software systems such as Outlook, Word, Excel etc.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Identify, define and develop funding sources to support existing and planned program activities
- Lead the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals to federal, state, and private funding agencies
- Strive to receive funding from different organizations and individuals by researching, drafting, and submitting proposals & applications
- Responsible for discovering grant opportunities and building and maintaining relationships with funders, donors, and others within the community
- Work closely with district personnel to ensure districts financial needs are being met with specific grant funds prior to application submission
- Acknowledge & understand districts goals, objectives, programs & financial needs and how they relate to available grants
- Respond to internal & external queries on drafted and submitted proposals
- Maintain records and submit reports related to grants
- Ability to study & understand programs and funding requirements of the organization
Qualifications / Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Bonding, and or Testing Required:
- Associate’s degree in English, communications, writing or related area or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3 years grant writing experience
Physical Demands: Standing, walking & sitting. Continuous hand dexterity. Occasional reach with hands and arms. The work requires constant seeing, hearing, and talking.
Work Environment: Work is performed remotely.
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Days / Terms of Employment: As needed. Hours necessary will vary on number of grants & complexity of grants.
